sophia loren + carlo ponti circa 1964
these pictures were released in LIFE magazine 1964 presenting sophia loren + carlo ponti's villa in italy. sophia described her relationship with the villa into a human relationships 'you need to spend quite a lot of time together before starting to feel comfortable'.

Sophia seems to have nailed the art of mixing masculine and feminine style... Amazing pictures!
i was captivated with these shots. i love the colors, the tones and as you said - the heavy make up matched with masculine clothing or the hat!
so classy... i agree,as fantastically feminine as she is as much as she has that masculine edge but also a bit of a child/youthful feel too.
Sophia holding Carlo and looking into the distance shows an immense comfort and strength in their relationship. This is how I would like to be in.
